Peter KWOK

Canada

Destination : Benin

My name is Peter Kwok. I love the rich culture, the warmth, and the energy here in Benin. I would also say that the diversity is incredible: there are different atmospheres and performances that I find really interesting. They are something you should experience at least once in your lifetime. Yes, there are mystical aspects and, at the same time, modern ones, I believe. The dancing brings something alive, and at the same time, there are things that we cannot really discover or reveal. I would tell my colleagues and friends that Benin has a very rich culture and that you can learn so much here. I would say it is perfect: everything is well planned and well organized. I will come back! I really love the Egungun and the Zangbeto dance.

Well, friends, here we are at the end of our trip to Ganvié. I hope you really enjoyed it ! Honestly, before coming to Ganvié, I didn’t really know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised. The guide’s explanations helped us better understand the lives of the local people as well as the history of Ganvié. I had an amazing time, and I would like to thank Kiblistours for this wonderful trip. See you soon !

Here we are, back from Ganvié, far from the kind of experiences that cannot simply be told - they have to be lived. It was an authentic experience, a truly wonderful experience, I have to admit. For example, I saw a restaurant that has been around for 50 years and is built on stilts. I saw women moving around in boats, selling grilled corn. We visited the market and discovered so many other things. There are even patches of land where children can play. Beyond the water, there are also areas where children can learn to walk, where adults can gather for meetings, and where there are spaces for games. All of this is built on the water. And all of this was made possible thanks to Kiblistours! Kiblistours allowed us to enjoy a wonderful, magnificent, and truly unforgettable experience. Thank you, Kiblistours !

Destination : Benin

My name is Dr. Lionel SOGBOSSI. I am a public health physician from Benin. It was a wonderful experience, with very comfortable buses and very helpful and attentive staff. I had two particular highlights. The first was the visit to the Kpassè Sacred Forest, where we received very insightful explanations about the statues, the history of the forest, and the sacred tree, which represents the king who was transformed into a tree. I also really enjoyed the final part of the tour, with the Egungun and Zangbeto dances and demonstrations. Even though I am Beninese, I had never had the opportunity to experience this kind of demonstration from such a close distance. It was definitely the highlight of the whole trip for me. Kiblistours really did an outstanding job with this tour. I will definitely recommend Kiblistours to friends coming from the United States, Canada, and from all over the world.

Jeanne KONAN AFFO

Côte d'Ivoire

Destination : Benin

My name is KONAN AFFO, and I am Ivorian. I was very satisfied because your guide, who was with us in the vehicle throughout every stage of the trip, told us many stories. There is one particular story that really stayed with me. Along the way, he introduced us to a temple dedicated to the gods, where we learned about the god of the air, the god of the waters, and the god of the earth. It made me think about the fact that we are Africans and that there are African beliefs involving all these different kinds of gods. I would also like to mention that in Ouidah, I discovered that the Temple of Pythons, which is located opposite a church called the Basilica, is certainly a sign of harmony between different beliefs in this city. Without hesitation, I would recommend Kiblistours to anyone because I was truly satisfied, as I mentioned earlier. They are welcoming and available.

Alpha Boubacar CISSAVANE

Guinée

Destination : Benin

My name is Alpha Boubacar Cissavane. I am originally from Guinea, and I work at WAHO. I am a trained IT specialist. Before coming here, I had heard a lot about Ouidah in particular and Benin in general. However, I had only visited Cotonou before, so I was really looking forward to exploring more of the country and discovering what life is like beyond the city, especially since this is such a great tourist destination. I was really satisfied with everything I saw and with the overall experience. In terms of organization, everything was very well planned. It was perfect, and we had guides who accompanied us throughout the visit, providing explanations at every stage to help us understand the origins and history of each tourist site and immerse ourselves more deeply in the local culture. It was truly an amazing experience. Of course, you can never say that everything is perfect, but I would give it a 9, just so I don’t give it a 10, because honestly, I have no specific complaints. Everything went very well. The Zangbeto performance in Ouidah really impressed me, especially the masks. The Egungun also left a strong impression on me. These two activities really stood out for me. It was a wonderful discovery. To future tourists, I think I have already started recommending the experience because after sharing my videos and photos from Cotonou, some of my friends have already contacted me asking for information. They were impressed and now want to come and visit as well. I encouraged them to come, and as you say, I highly recommend Kiblistours to organize their entire stay here, both in Cotonou and in Ouidah. My sincere encouragement and appreciation to you, especially for your professionalism throughout this visit. I wish you all the best and continued success, Kiblistours!

I would rate the experience 9 out of 10—only because I do not want to give a perfect score! Honestly, I have no specific complaints; everything went extremely well. The Zangbeto performance in Ouidah impressed me the most, particularly the masks. The Egungun performance also left a strong impression on me. These were wonderful and memorable discoveries. Tours in Benin Visiting Benin Benin Travel Itinerary Private Guide in Benin Benin Travel Packages Ouidah Tour Ganvié Tour Porto-Novo Tour Abomey Tour Grand-Popo Tata Somba Agrotourism in Benin Cultural Tours in Benin ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a wonderful day in Ganvié with Kiblistours. Honestly, I didn’t really know what to expect before setting off, but the visit turned out to be a wonderful surprise. Everything went exactly as planned. The guide picked us up on time and took the time to make us feel comfortable from the very beginning. Throughout the visit, he shared plenty of explanations about the history of Ganvié and the daily lives of its residents. It was fascinating and very easy to understand. We had a little rain while crossing the lake. At first, I thought the visit might be cut short, but in the end, it didn’t spoil our day at all. On the contrary, it became one of the memories we talked about throughout the journey back. What struck me the most was seeing children coming home from school by canoe and families living their lives in rhythm with the lake. You realize that Ganvié is not just a tourist destination, but a living village with a strong history and identity. My phone was already full of photos before the visit was even over! Thank you to the entire Kiblistours team for your professionalism and kindness. I would really love to experience this again with Kiblistours.

Hello, my name is Grégoire. I’m taking part in an agritourism activity with Kiblistours, in the heart of a rice field situated in a low-lying area. I’m discovering real potential in this sector, which is truly a sector of the future and one that people would do well to embrace.

Hello everyone ! It was Kiblistours that brought me here. Today, we’re taking part in an activity involving the processing of palm kernels. We’re going to explain the different uses of these kernels. The kernels are used to make palm kernel oil, known as ‘tcho-tcho’ in Fon. This same oil is also used to make soaps, such as Palmida, amongst others. When I arrived, the women were already hard at work. I’m really moved and very keen to take part in this sort of activity, because it’s precisely to have this kind of experience that I came on this immersion trip with kiblistours. To begin with, the palm kernels are placed in a basin of water. Next, using a sieve, we separate the waste from the kernels. Once thoroughly cleaned, the palm kernels are laid out in the sun to dry. They are then placed over a wood fire. After a few hours, the process yields oil. This oil is then sold at the market and used for various purposes.

Hello, hi there! My name is Véronique Sènami Dekpon and I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to Kiblistours for giving me the chance to experience first-hand the process of making palm nut oil today. I’m talking specifically about red oil, which I particularly enjoy with my children, and gari too, which I like but didn’t know how either of them was made. So I came along to have this experience today, thanks to Kiblistours.

During my trip to Benin, several people recommended that I visit the Slave Route in Ouidah. I chose to experience it with Kiblistours, and I am truly happy with my decision. From the very beginning of the tour, I was impressed by the team’s professionalism, the warm welcome, and the quality of the explanations provided by our guide. This visit is much more than just a tourist attraction. Each stop tells a part of the history with great sensitivity and respect. The guide took the time to put the events into their historical context while explaining their significance for Benin, Africa, and the rest of the world. I particularly appreciated the way he answered questions and encouraged discussion throughout the visit. Beyond the historical richness of the experience, I discovered a welcoming people, proud of their heritage and eager to share it with visitors. This experience deeply touched me and helped me better understand the connections between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. I sincerely recommend Kiblistours to anyone looking for an authentic, enriching, and perfectly organized experience. Without a doubt, it is one of the best memories of my stay in Benin.

I had wanted to visit Ganvié for a long time, and I’m truly happy that I got to discover it with Kiblistours. From the very beginning, we felt very welcome. Our guide was friendly and, above all, explained everything in a very natural way. He never rushed us and took the time to answer our questions, which made the visit much more interesting. The moment that stands out the most for me was seeing local residents getting around by canoe, just as others would use their cars. At one point, a mother passed by with her children, and everything seemed so completely normal to them. It was such a simple image, but it has stayed with me. I also loved the peaceful atmosphere on the lake. We could mostly hear the sound of the water, the canoes, and the conversations between the residents. I never thought a visit could be so relaxing while also being so enriching. I’m leaving with wonderful memories and, above all, with the feeling that I discovered a place with a truly remarkable history and a unique identity. Thank you to the entire Kiblistours team for such a wonderful day. If I get the chance to discover more of Benin, I would be delighted to travel with them again.

He managed to explain this important part of history in simple terms while also answering our children’s many questions. However, due to the disruption caused by the rain, we feel that taking the weather conditions into account when organizing the visit would have resulted in an even more satisfying experience.
