Designed for travelers seeking an authentic introduction to Benin's spiritual heritage, this experience offers a unique opportunity to discover the foundations of the Fâ divination system, traditional spiritual healing practices, and the ancestral knowledge preserved by renowned Bokonons and traditional healers.
Throughout the journey, you will meet respected practitioners recognized for their expertise in Fâ divination and traditional healing while participating in two introductory workshops led by experienced masters. These sessions are intended to provide a cultural and educational understanding of one of Africa's oldest living spiritual traditions.
During a three-day initiation workshop in Cotonou, a panel of approximately five Bokonons, under the supervision of a distinguished Professor of Fâ, will introduce you to:
the philosophy and history of the Fâ system;
the basic principles of Fâ divination;
the use of cowrie shells (Cauris) for introductory divination;
an introduction to the Okpèlè divination chain;
interpretation of the first divinatory signs;
ethical principles governing traditional divination.
The journey continues to Agonlin, one of the historic centers of Fâ practice, where you will receive a personal Fâ consultation from an experienced Bokonon before taking part in a second three-day workshop introducing traditional spiritual healing practices. During this workshop, participants will discover the cultural foundations of spiritual healing, purification rituals, the symbolic use of medicinal plants, and traditional approaches used to address illnesses considered to have spiritual origins.
This programme is designed as a cultural immersion and educational experience. It does not provide certification nor authorize participants to practice divination or traditional healing professionally.

Day 1, 2 & 3 - Cotonou: Introductory workshop on Cowrie Shell Casting and Okpèlè Divination Conducted by a Group of Bokonons
After breakfast, start the workshop in Cotonou.
Activities include:
Meeting with a respected Bokonons.
Introduction to Fa divination and its cultural significance.
Lunch.
Return to hotel.
Day 4, - Abomey : Custumized consultation with two local Bokonons in Abomey
Departure for Abomey, the historic capital of the Kingdom of Dahomey.
Activities include:
Optional private consultation.
Lunch.
Guided cultural tour of Abomey's historical heritage.
Depart to Agonlin.
Day 4, 5, 6 - Agonlin : Ancestral Knowledge and Medicinal Plants
Agonlin, a region well known for its traditional medicinal knowledge.
Activities include:
Meeting one or more traditional healers selected according to your interests.
Discovery of medicinal plants and traditional preparation techniques.
Cultural exchanges with local practitioners.
Lunch.
Return to Cotonou.
Overnight stay in Cotonou.
Day 7 - End of immersion
Free time depending on your flight schedule.
Airport transfer.
